Taylor Swift, whose recent album announcement, record-breaking world tour, and appearance at the Super Bowl in support of partner Travis Kelce has everyone talking, is enjoying the moment right now ― as is Miley Cyrus, the recently announced former Hannah Montana star. recently stole attention with his performance at the Grammys.
But you may not realize that the two are connected in a musically appropriate way.
Taylor, who signed her first record deal at the age of 14, is only three years older than Miley, whose first season of Hannah Montana premiered when she was just 13.
And it turns out Taylor was also involved in the show behind the scenes.
Taylor, who has written songs for other artists (such as Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s This Is What You Came For), also wrote songs for Hannah Montana.
In the 2009 film Hannah Montana, the song You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home shines like a country song – and was written by Taylor (who was 19 or 20 when the film was released).
Taylor collaborated with songwriter Martin Johnson to write the song – with whom he also worked on the Speak Now If This Was A Movie cut.
The You Belong With Me star also made a cameo appearance in Hannah Montana: The Movie, and Miley took the stage with Taylor during Taylor’s first Grammys performance.
So wait – are Miley and Taylor friends?
Yes, they seemed happy to be able to appear together in the late 2000s. “Our personalities are different, so it works,” Taylor said of their Grammy collaboration at the time, to which Miley later added: “And our voices.”
The two also shared a hug in the video of the performance.
Then, when Miley became famous for her infamous 2013 VMA performance, Taylor immediately came to her defense.
“Honestly, I think I encourage anyone to live life in their own way and wear what they want to wear and represent what they want to represent,” he told Tout Le Monde En Parle.
“I don’t think any other female artist can tell me to wear less clothes and I won’t tell any other female artist to wear more clothes.”
However, in a 2015 New York Times article, Miley seemed to claim she didn’t want to be part of Taylor’s famous group of friends.
“I’m not trying to get into the squad,” he said at the time. “None of my friends are famous and not for any other reason than I just like real people living real lives, because I’m inspired by them.”Miley Cyrus and Taylor at the premiere of Hannah Montana: The Movie in 2009

And, speaking about Taylor’s Bad Blood music video the following year, Miley told Marie Claire: “I don’t like violent revenge. That should be a good example? And I’m a bad role model because I run around with my tits out? I’m not sure how boobs are worse than guns.”
However, there haven’t been any real comments from either star about each other since Taylor and Miley were both in attendance at the 2024 Grammys, and Taylor clapped enthusiastically when Miley won Best Pop Solo Performance for Flowers over Anti-Hero for which she was also nominated.
So basically we don’t know. But we know that You Will Always Find Your Way Home is eternal.
