Sharon Stone Reveals Disturbing Dating App Experience

Even Hollywood A-listers like Sharon Stone are not safe from the dangers of finding love online.

Speaking to The Times in an interview published on Friday, the Basic Instinct actor confirmed he had used dating apps to find potential lovers – and the results had been mixed.

One of the men Sharon met turned out to be “a heroin addict who clearly had a shot of heroin 20,000 later than the picture he sent me,” she said.

“I told the waiter, ‘I’ll have a glass of water.’ He drank a cocktail: absinthe or something,” the Oscar nominee recalled of her date at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. “And I said, ‘Sorry, I can’t stay.’”

Other dates, Sharon explains, were more successful.

“I’m almost like a therapist,” he said. “Someone whose wife told him she wanted a divorce and they had two small children. He struggled to process it. And (another) has broken up with his girlfriend. She got pregnant and instead of getting married, she had an abortion… She still loved him very much and I helped her process it.

“It was really beneficial for both of us. I don’t know how to explain it.”

And unlike other celebrities, Sharon makes no attempt to hide her identity when using the app, saying: “I act as myself. It’s not like I can fake it.”

"“This is the year I want to fall in love – 100%,” says Sharon Stone about 2024.

Sharon was married to producer Michael Greenburg from 1984 to 1990 and to newspaper editor Phil Bronstein from 1998 to 2004.

In his chat with The Times, he said he had high hopes for 2024 in terms of romance.

“This is the year I want to fall in love – 100%,” she explained. Regarding the attributes he looks for in a potential partner, he said: “You don’t search a list and then your list arrives. That’s what people who don’t have relationships do. So they can console themselves with the fact that they don’t have a relationship and feel like they are actively working to make that happen in their lives.”

It turns out that Sharon’s search for love has inspired a famous friend.

Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show last year, actor Andie MacDowell said Sharoan had given her some online dating tips.

“I had Sharon Stone call me to let me know she was in Raya,” MacDowell said. “Raya, that’s what I’m going to do.

“He said he met two gay guys there and that’s all he got from Raya! But it sounds fun. That might be fun.”
