An image of what appears to be a Coca Cola bottle is instead a dessert made from Woolworths chocolate mudcakes.

Aussie mum Becky made the cake for her son’s birthday and the replica looked almost identical to the original that her daughter almost didn’t notice it was edible.

Sharing images to a popular Facebook group, she wrote: ‘Must have been good as my daughter took a few minutes to find the ‘cake’ in the fridge.’

‘I did two layers of melted chocolate on the inside then layered the cake and buttercream on the inside,’ she said.

To make the perfect shape, she sliced a plastic Coke bottle in half then used it similarly to a cookie cutter.

‘Cut the plastic bottle off (carefully), joined with some more buttercream and melted chocolate, then attached the label and cap,’ she said.

‘So creative and I love how you included the different steps to making the cake – well done,’ one person wrote in the comments.

‘Thats very cool. Think my husbands bday cake just got sorted!’ another added.

Earlier this year a woman wowed her mother-in-law on her birthday by creating a KFC-inspired cake – and the end result looks incredibly realistic.

Teagan from South Australia, created a classic KFC snack box birthday cake using two $5 Coles cakes.

Last year she made her mother-in-law, who loves KFC, a chips and gravy cake but decided to take her skills to a new level this year by recreating her favourite takeaway meal in cake form.

‘This year I wasn’t sure how I would top it, but according to her, I did lol! This is my attempt at the KFC cake hack,’ Teagan wrote online.

To create the chips and fried chicken she simply used a $4.80 vanilla mud cake from Coles and placed a $5.50 jam and cream sponge cake from Coles underneath.

Once Tegan carved the cake to look like chicken pieces she coated them in Betty Crocker white icing and added a cornflake crumb for a realistic touch.

She also created a pot of the classic KFC mashed potatoes and gravy with whipped cream and a generous drizzle of caramel sauce.

‘She and everyone else loved it,’ Teagan wrote on the Facebook post, and her impressive creation is just one of many.

The KFC cake trend has completely swept the nation as numerous home cooks have also shared images of their own versions.

How did Teagan create the KFC cake? Carve white chocolate mud cake into chicken pieces.Coat the cake pieces in white Betty Crocker icing and toss them in a cornflake crumb to add a realistic touch.  Carve the remainder of the cake into long, thick chip shapes. Whip cream and scoop into a small tub to resemble mashed potato. Add a generous drizzle of caramel sauce to resemble gravy.
