Malia Obama showed off her toned midriff and long legs in tiny white shorts and a skimpy crop top, while enjoying a trip to a salon in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday.

The eldest daughter of former President Barack Obama, 24 – who is currently working as a screenwriter on Donald Glover’s upcoming Amazon show –  kept it casual for the outing.

She donned a pair of sporty shorts with a barely-there, white, tank top – which left her stomach on full display. She paired the look with a pair of white New Balance sneakers and tall, yellow socks.

Malia seemed somber as she left a beauty parlor, clutching into her wallet, cell phone, and keys. She went makeup free for the outing, and left her long, braided locks loose around her face.

Malia moved to Los Angeles last year, after graduating from Harvard, to pursue a career as a screenwriter.

In March, Donald revealed that he had given the 24-year-old her first job as a writer on his new series, which is reportedly about ‘a Beyoncé-type character,’ with the actor calling her ‘amazingly talented’ and ‘really focused.’

‘She’s just like, an amazingly talented person,’ Donald, 38, who is also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, told Vanity Fair at the time. ‘She’s really focused, and she’s working really hard.’

Donald did not share how Malia – who previously interned on Lena Dunham’s HBO series Girls in 2015 and at The Weinstein Company in 2017 – landed the job after she graduated from college but he added that he believed she has a promising future in the industry.

‘I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon. Her writing style is great,’ he gushed.

Malia also earned praise from Donald’s younger brother, Stephan Glover, who is also working on the show. He commended her work ethic and ideas, and added that they are happy to have her on the team because of her ‘different’ and ‘unique’ perspective.

‘Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writers’ room,’ he gushed. ‘And for sure, she definitely has a unique perspective on everything.

‘So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us. Listening to her stories and having her involved really gave us a lot of good ideas.’

When asked how he goes about rejecting Malia’s pitches, he made it clear that she isn’t getting any kind of special treatment in the writers’ room because of who her parents are.

‘Well, you know, we just hurt her feelings. We can’t be easy on her just because she’s the [former] president’s daughter,’ he joked.

‘Nah, she’s very down to earth, and cool. So, it’s not a problem at all,’ he added. ‘She has a lot of good ideas. She’s great. She’s just a regular person like everybody else.’

Malia has certainly stayed busy since she moved to LA, and is often spotted out and about. In recent weeks, she’s been seen grabbing coffee and fast food on various occasions, as well as visiting local parks and working out.

Most recently, she was caught by photographers grabbing some takeout food with a mystery man. She wore a black sports bra and matching leggings for the outing, while her unnamed companion rocked baggy, green slacks and a gray T-shirt.

The two were seen chatting as they walked side by side into a local eatery. After they picked up their lunch, he stopped to smoke a cigarette before they got back into her car.

While Malia is working as a screenwriter, her younger sister, Sasha Obama, 21, is also building her own life in Los Angeles – reportedly studying at the University of Southern California after transferring from the University of Michigan.

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed a few months ago that she was in a relationship with Clifton Powell Jr., 24, who is the son of Ray actor Clifton Powell.

Malia’s relationship status is unclear following her move to Los Angeles

She previously dated Rory Farquharson in 2017, while they were both students at Harvard University. However, whether she and Rory are still together is unknown, as she has never publicly addressed her relationship status

Clifton Jr. and Sasha are understood to have met after she relocated to the West Coast, and he is already close with the family, as he has been seen hanging out with Malia a few times.

While Sasha has been linked to Clifton Jr. in recent months, Malia’s relationship status is unclear following her move to Los Angeles.

She previously dated Rory Farquharson – the son of chief executive of Insight Investment Management Limited Charles – in 2017, while they were both students at Harvard University.

However, whether she and Rory are still together is unknown, as she has never publicly addressed her relationship status.

In April, Sasha and Malia’s mother, former First Lady Michelle Obama, opened up about how both of her daughters are all grown up during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Ellen, 64, reminded Michelle, 58, of how Sasha and Malia had first visited the show when they were little girls who wanted to see the Jonas Brothers. But over a decade later, they’ve graduated from boybands to boyfriends.

‘Now they’re bringing grown men home,’ she said. ‘Now they have boyfriends and real lives and all that stuff. They have grown up right before our very eyes and they are doing well.’

While Michelle gushed about the ‘amazing young women’ her daughters have become – ‘Women, I know! Scary,’ she said – and divulged that they were both now dating, she was much more discreet about the details of their love lives and didn’t share any further details.
