An amateur home chef has shared a simple way to cook eggs without using the stove. TikToker Kasandra posted a now-viral video demonstrating the process by first cracking an egg onto a paper plate and placing in the microwave for 50 seconds

‘I like it this way because it’s kind of like a poached egg, no crispy brown bits and a perfect pink top,’ Kasandra wrote.

In the video, she begins by greasing the plate with oil, but butter can also be used, then cracks an egg on top.

Next, she places another paper plate over the egg to prevent any mess and pops it into the microwave for 50 seconds.

‘And there’s your perfect egg,’ Kasandra said

For those wanting hard cooked eggs, she advised to cook for an extra 10 seconds or if you prefer soft yolk opt for 10 seconds less.

In the comments some praised the simple tactic while other seemed confused.

‘I thought microwaving eggs was bad?’ one person asked, another added: ‘I’m calling the cops rn (right now).’

But a third said: ‘No but this is so smart for people who don’t have a stove.’

Other said the hack is perfect for those living in student dorms and can’t be bothered cooking.
