Lady Kitty Spencer shared a video offering a behind-the-scenes look at her lavish wedding to retail entrepreneur Michael Lewis to mark their first wedding anniversary.

Princess Diana’s niece, 31, wed the South African-born multi-millionaire, 63, at the Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, a stunning country mansion with views towards Rome, on July 24, 2021.

The celebrations stretched across four days and were attended by close friends including the pop star Pixie Lott and the Marchioness of Bath. An expert estimated the day itself would have cost in excess of £1million.

Photographs shared at the time gave snapshots of the day, including the bride’s wardrobe of bespoke Dolce & Gabbana gowns, but Lady Kitty’s new video gives the clearest view yet of the intimate nuptials.

The minute-long clip captures the courtyard ceremony, elegant reception and spectacular fireworks display. Most intriguingly, it also shows candid moments between Lady Kitty and her publicity-shy husband.

The couple beam as they walk hand-in-hand down the aisle and find time for a quiet moment together away from their guests. The video ends with a shot of Mr Lewis standing with his arm around his bride as she leans her head affectionately on his shoulder.

Mother-of-the-bride Victoria Aitken, the first wife of Charles, Earl Spencer, features, as does Lady Kitty’s brother Louis, Viscount Althorp. Earl Spencer was notably absent from proceedings.

The video, filmed by leading Italian wedding videographer Marco Caputo and shared on Lady Kitty’s Instagram account, is set to words from one of the wedding speeches, although the speaker is not identified.

He says: ‘I’ve seen their love take hold then grow and consolidate with all the happiness, excitement and occasional struggle that comes with it.

‘I’ve seen the tenderness and determination in both of them and for the caring bystander I was, it filled me with joy to see the friend who already had such an important place in my heart, and the one who so easily conquered one, make each other happier people.

‘In order to not just witness this union, feel it with something that is stronger than the laws of God, stronger than the laws of man.’

The video opens with shots of Lady Kitty and Mr Lewis getting ready in separate rooms in the 17th century Italian property. The bride, who is Global Brand Ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana, was resplendent in one of five gowns by the designer worn over the course of the weekend.

The high-neck, Victorian inspired lace gown featured feminine puff sleeves and a cinched waist. Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda division spent around six months creating the wedding dress at their embroidery factory and Milan atelier.

Lady Kitty was escorted down the steps of the villa into the courtyard by her brothers Louis, Viscount Althorp, and Samuel Aitken, but walked down the aisle alone, the video suggests.

The couple exchanged vows in between floral arches. Music was provided by a pianist and a singer positioned to the right of the couple.

Mr Lewis wore a kippah, and it is thought Lady Kitty received instruction in the Jewish faith ahead of the ceremony.

The smiling newlyweds walked back down the aisle hand-in-hand as guests tossed pastel-coloured confetti in the air.

As the sun began to set, friends and family took their seats at round tables set with gold crockery and cutlery, ‘K&M’ napkins, and personalised menus.

Beautiful candelabra displays hung with soft and white blooms and twisting green foliage added a romantic touch to the already picturesque setting.

The celebrations continued with dancing and a live band and the night ended with a spectacular fireworks display.

Lady Kitty and Michael Lewis went public with their relationship in 2019 and were first seen on a stroll together in New York City.

Unlike his blue-blooded model wife, fashion tycoon Mr Lewis prefers to stay out of the public eye and off social media.

The father-of-three, who is five years older than Lady Kitty’s father, proposed to the society model shortly before Christmas 2019.

When it came to her dress for the big day, it seems she had only one thought in mind. Domenico Dolce later said: ‘She told us she had thought of us immediately, and we were very happy with that!’

Fit for a princess! The night before the wedding, Kitty wore a baby-blue tulle gown and cape embroidered with cross-stitched flowers also made for her by Dolce & Gabbana

The designers said they had only four fittings to get it right. ‘They’ve been beautiful and emotional moments,’ said Dolce. ‘One of the inspirations is definitely her love for Italy. Kitty is in love with our beautiful country and its rich history, art and culture.’

Stefano Gabbana said: ‘But she is also a girl who is very attached to her origins, to England; to her heritage of the great Victorian era. And like all the English people, she has a great passion for all kinds of flowers.’

Lady Kitty had a week-long hen party in Italy with some of her closest friends.

The official pre-wedding events with a rehearsal dinner at the Galleria Del Cardinal, a high-end events space in Rome. Guests dined on a menu including a classic veal and tuna salad, beef broth and pumpkin cream ravioli and baked eggplant.

The main event took place on Saturday at the £20,000-a-day Villa Aurelia which offers panoramic views of Rome.

Lady Kitty, the Global Ambassador for D&G, was supported by her sisters Eliza and Amelia, 30, two brothers and her mother at the lavish nuptials, which took place over a long weekend and were followed by a month-long honeymoon.

Also present were Mr Lewis’s three adult children from a previous marriage. Lady Kitty is understood to have formed strong relationships with her husband’s children.

Guests included the Marquess and Marchioness of Bath; pop star Pixie Lott and her now husband Oliver Cheshire; Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina; and Made In Chelsea star Mark Vandelli.

On Sunday guests returned for a post-wedding lunch at the property which also served as the venue for the wedding of Meghan Markle’s BFF Misha Nonoo and oil heir Mikey Hess in September 2019.
