Martin Lewis Reveals Payment Confusion After Tom Holland/Tom Hollander Incident

Tom Hollander recently revealed that a mistake involving his almost-namesake Tom Holland led to him receiving a huge bonus pay slip from the Marvel star by mistake – but it seems this kind of thing happens more often than you might think.

Earlier this week, the White Lotus actor appeared on Seth Meyers’ US talk show, where he recalled: “It was an incredible amount of money. That’s not his salary. It was his first box office bonus.

“Not the overall box office. The first. And it’s more than I’ve ever (seen) – it’s in the seven figures.”

The anecdote appears to have taken the money-saving expert on a financial trip down his own memory lane, after experiencing a similar mistake earlier in his career.

“I was heartbroken when I realized it wasn’t mine…”

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Martin concluded: “PS, I sent it to him.”

This reminds me of when I was just starting out, before the days of websites, and the BBC accidentally sent me newsreader (now Sir) Martyn Lewis’s pay sheet. I was heartbroken when I realized it wasn’t mine…

PS I sent it to him.

During his Late Night interview, Tom Hollander explained that the chaos occurred when he and the Spider-Man star shared an agent.

“That feeling of complacency that you remember me having, disappeared very quickly,” Tom joked. “But that’s the world of entertainment.”
