Florence Pugh revealed there was an unfortunate moment on set when she was filming one of her sex scenes in Oppenheimer’s film.
In Christopher Nolan’s historical epic, Florence plays psychiatrist and Communist Party member Jean Tatlock, a lover of J Robert Oppenheimer who reappears several times throughout his life.
As part of the film, the Oscar nominee appeared in several intimate scenes that required her and co-star Cillian Murphy to strip naked, and admitted in a recent Q&A interview for Universal that this resulted in a bit of awkwardness when technical issues arose. .
“In the middle of our sex scene, the camera broke,” he told the panel, as reported by People. “No one knows this, but it is known.
“Our camera broke when we were both naked and the timing wasn’t ideal and there weren’t many cameras. One camera was being repaired in the shop, and (director Christopher Nolan) turned around and asked someone, ‘where is the other camera?’.”Florence Pugh and Cillian Murphy on Oppenheimer
“So Cillian and I are in this room together, and it’s a closed location, so we’re both holding our bodies,” he continued, hugging himself.
As a professional, Florence decided to use the incident as a learning opportunity.

It was previously revealed that in some regions, Florence’s nude scenes had been digitally censored with CGI to make it appear she was wearing a dress.
Oppenheimer leads the way at the upcoming Oscars, with 13 nominations, including acting nominations for cast Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, and Emily Blunt.
